PRE-PROFESSIONAL
Are you ready to take your ballet training to the next level?

The Academy of Cleveland Ballet’s Pre-Professional Program offers students ages 7-18 a rigorous Vaganova-based curriculum, designed to build strong technique and artistry. Dancers also gain valuable stage experience through multiple performance opportunities both through the Academy and alongside Cleveland Ballet, preparing them for a future in professional ballet. Our students have earned spots in professional trainee programs and top college dance programs upon graduation.

LEVEL 1
Ages 7-8
Mondays 5:00-6:30 PM - Ballet Technique
Wednesdays 5:00-7:30 PM - Ballet Technique, Jazz
$320/Month
Level 1 focuses on developing and teaching ballet technique and giving students a strong foundation and body awareness. This level also includes different styles of dance to round out technical and performance skills. Students begin taking a full barre and center during class as well as learn ballet etiquette and culture.

LEVEL 2
Ages 9-11
Tuesdays 5:00-7:30 PM - Ballet Technique, Jazz
Thursdays 5:30-7:30 PM - Ballet Technique, Pre-Pointe
$360/Month
Dancers in this level begin refining their technique and growing their flexibility and strength. Students transition to taking two classes back-to-back and focus on putting multiple steps together in combinations. Classroom etiquette is enforced and students learn the process of dancer self-care, discipline, and team work.

LEVEL 3
12-14
Tuesdays 5:00-7:30 PM - Ballet Technique, Introductory Pointe
Thursdays 5:00-7:30 PM - Ballet Technique, Repertoire
Fridays 5:00-7:30 PM - Ballet Technique, Strength Training
Saturdays 9:00 AM -12:30 PM - Contemporary, Stretching and Extensions, Ballet Technique
$450/Month
Dancers in this level are focused on training and growing new skills. Students in this level receive a variety of classes and information that will progress their technique and transform them into well-rounded and strong dancers. Students also get exposed to aspects of ballet culture and learn about the different elements/aspects of performing.

Classes include, but are not limited to: Ballet Technique, Pointe Technique, Male and Female Variations, Men's Class, Partnering, Contemporary, Strength Training, and more!

Class Placement is based on recommendation of faculty. Inquiring students must take a placement class.

LEVEL 4
Ages 15-18
Mondays 5:00-7:30 PM - Ballet Technique, Repertoire
Wednesdays 5:00-7:30 PM - Ballet Technique, Pointe or Partnering Technique (alternating)
Fridays 5:00-7:30 PM - Ballet Technique, Contemporary
Saturdays 9:00 AM -12:30 PM - Strength Training, Ballet Technique, Skills Workshops

Dancers in level 4 take their final steps in an academic sphere and begin to transition into professional development. Students begin to look at their future and train towards their personal and professional goals while also honing in their skills and strengths. Dancers also receive essential classes and training that will prepare them to take to the stage.

MEN'S CLASS
For gentlemen in levels 1-4
Tuesdays 6:30-7:30 PM - Strength Training
Wednesdays 6:30-7:30 - Men's Technique or Partnering Technique (alternating)
The Academy enjoys offering male specific classes to students that hone in on the specialized movements, steps and requirements to grow and succeed. Students participating also enjoy the benefit of working with male professional dancers and teachers, who coach with the unique perspective of their careers.
